FS2002 Convair CV-880 Cathay Pacific V2
---------------------------------------

An updated repaint of Rey Lopez' lovely Convair 880 in Cathay Pacific livery as VR-HZA, together with a paint of VR-HFT in the earlier Cathay colours. This aircraft, designed in FSDS2, has reflective bodywork with metal underbelly, wings and engines, transparent cockpit with pilots, opening forward passenger door, two 2D cockpits (jumpseat and captain), a virtual cockpit and night lighting.

Cathay Pacific operated the CV-880 between 1962 and 1974, having eight in the fleet at one time.

These repaints, by kind permission of Rey Lopez, are by Mark Beaumont. This download supersedes the earlier file CXCV880G.ZIP which may be discarded or safely overwritten.

INSTALLATION

Either:

Unzip CXCV8802.ZIP directly to your main FS2002 folder. The folder 'Convair CV-880 Cathay Pacific' will be installed in your FS2002/AIRCRAFT folder. If you have previously installed the first version of this aircraft and made no alterations to that installation, you may safely overwrite it.

Or:

After unzipping, open the 'Aircraft' folder and manually move the folder 'Convair CV-880 Cathay Pacific', with all its contents, to your FS2002/AIRCRAFT folder. Overwrite if prompted to.

Whichever way you do it, your new aircraft will appear in your FS2002 aircraft selection menu under the manufacturer 'Convair' type 'CV-880', with two variations: 'Cathay Pacific (early livery)' and 'Cathay Pacific (later livery)'.

There are no gauges to install, as Rey's rudimentary panels use default 737 equipment. His forthcoming payware panels for this aircraft will be more detailed.

If you seek an alternative 2D panel in the meantime, a highly recommended download is Matthias Lieberecht's marvellous FS2000 panel, which works just fine in FS2002. It's available directly from my own site at www.swiremariners.com/cxkaitak.html

This update refines the original textures a little and adds a second livery. The bitmaps are now saved without mipmaps to avoid the blurriness which was prevalent in the first version. Both these repaints are now with full reflections and night lighting.

Note that reflections will not be seen, in any case, unless enabled in FS2002.
